well to know these details I think you can refer to our govt. official website adi
I think it would be better if we discuss more about our locality and some thing which others aren't much aware of - which is hard to find fact

India is the seventh-largest country by geographical area
The name `India’ is derived from the River Indus, the valleys around which were the home of the early settlers. The Aryan worshippers referred to the river Indus as the Sindhu.
