Myth: BPO industry is short-lived
Reality: BPO industry is well established in India and got a strong infrastructure, manpower and technology so it’s not going to end so soon.
Myth: BPO jobs are at a risk
Reality: BPO industry is so well established with so much investment and technology so it really doesn’t look like it’s going off from India in coming years.
Myth: Chinese, Russian and Pilipino BPO industry will take over Indian BPO industry very soon.
Reality: English language and neutral accent is a big barrier that these countries have to overcome. Apart from that the quality of workforce which we have in India is not available anywhere. There is a very tiny chance of these countries taking over Indian BPO industry.
Myth: Many big organisations are taking off business from India
Reality: There were some cases in which information security was compromised but after applying strict information security policy in Indian BPO's no such case came in picture. May be some organisations took back the business but later they gave back the business with improved and better ideas.
Myth: Attrition in Indian BPO is high due to job dissatisfaction, frustration and off shifts.
Reality: Most of the new comers and youngsters join BPO's for easy and quick growth with better package and later they move to other BPO's due to better package or better position. The odd working hours keeps married and family people away from working in a BPO.
Myth: Taking calls is the only work in BPO.
Reality: Taking calls is not the only job in BPO there are all the departments which you find in any other organisation like HR, IT, Finance, Training, Management and Quality.
Myth: Woking in odd hours or BPO's affects health.
Reality: Our human body adopts changes very easily and it doesn't affect our system. Most of the BPO's have gym, carom board, table tennis and other indoor games to remove the monotony of the job
