Delhi is a congested city and if you can stand out in the open and breath well then be thankful to God.Picnic in or around Delhi? Nah I dont think so... this city is a dump and surrounding areas are even worse... Its all a huge construction site and thats what Delhi is at the moment. Give it another 10 years and we might have some spots to name

I would suggest moving higher up , travelling overnight can get you to nice places near Delhi .. Shimla .. Dharamshala ..

If you just want to make day outing then you can look forward for Neemrana too. It is 100kms away from Delhi on NH8(towards Jaipur).
