Interested in Indian archeology? Then you must visit the small town of Kalkulam near Nagercoil of Tamil Nadu. With enough transportation facitlites available through road and railways, the place is easily approachable and a must see for everyone.

One important place of archeological relevance is the Kumariamman Temple, which idolizes the goddess Kanyakumari (Parvati).

A memorial for the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi has been constructed here at the spot where his ashes were displayed for the public view before a portion was immersed into the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Another important feature is the Vivekananda Memorial which is located on the Vivekananda Rock blending of various Indian architectural styles.

Suchindram which is at a distance of 13 kilo meters from Kalkulam has a majestic temple devoted to a unified deity representing Siva, Vishnu and Brahma. Other than the musical pillars, the temple also boasts an valuable collection of art. Olakkay Aruvi Water falls is a place where the adventurous can undertake trekking and bathe in the cold waters of the water fall.
