Default Weekend Getaways from Delhi

All of these Weekend Getaway Places are easily accessible by Car, Taxi or train. You can also look for air travel but i suggest Road or Rail only.

Here I am pointing out most of the weekend getaways for team outings, most of BPO's have funds for team offsite/ outstation party. If you need more information about any place of taxi fares or anything else then remember to ping here. Most of such trips happens on a budget of INR. 1200-1500 per person. and there are some places like Agra which you can cover withing INR. 500 per person (without overnight stay).

Default Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park (275Kms from New Delhi, follow NH24 till moradabad then take turn towards Kashipur, from kashipur drive straight to Jim Corbett)

This is the best place in North India to feel Wildlife and to see tigers, asian elephants from near.
Base package or Cottage stay for 2 in Jim Corbett can be arranged for INR> 3500 and can pick other Deluxe cottages are available from INR. 4000 onwards.

To reach

Air: The Nearest airport is Phoolbagh, which is about 50Kms from Jim Corbett National Park. I would not advise air travel from Delhi to Corbett as its very short distance and the best idea is to enjoy the trip by Rail or Road.

Rail: The nearest Railway station to Jim Corbett National Park is Ranikhet, train starts from Delhi at 22:45 and there are only 5 stations from Delhi to Ranikhet making total journey of 6 hours.
Delhi 22:45 Hours
Ghaziabad 23:27 Hours
Hapur 00:08 Hours
Moradabad 03:05 Hours
Kashipur 04:28 Hours
Ramnagar 05:00 Hours

From Ramnagar Taxi and local bus coaches are available after every few minutes.

Road: From Delhi to Jim Corbett National Park Road is the best way to travel, total road trip takes around 6-7 hours as the way is full of small food and beer outlets so best time to visit would be Feb-April and Aug-Nov.

From Delhi you need to start towards Ghaziabad and stick to NH24 which leads to Kashipur and from Kashipur take slight right to stay on MDR 65W which goes straight to Mall Road and Jim Corbett National Park.

There are many Tour and travel operators who run weekend 1 night and 2 days trip to Corbett and if you like to get there by taxi then you can easily hire Tavera or Innova cab for INR. 7-8 per km.

Jim Corbett is the best place to observe silence and to see flora and fauna, main attraction are Asian Elephant, Tiger, Leopard, Crocodile, Jackal, Himalayan Black Bear, Deer, Cheetal and
has nearly 600 bird species.

Default Rishikesh (Best place for Team outing/ offsite)

Rishikesh (230Kms) NH58

Air: Nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) which is 35Kms away, from airport Rishikesh is well connected by taxi cabs and bus. Airplanes are not available everyday, only Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday flights are available from Delhi to Dehradun.

Rail: Rishikesh doesn't have its own railway station and the nearest railway station is Haridwar Railway station which is about 23Kms away.

Road: This is the most convinent and best way to reach Rishikesh, from delhi it takes about 6 hours to reach here. There are number of travel and tour operators who are offering good packages for Rishikesh trip but to customise and enjoy the trip on your own its better to drive or to take taxi on KM basis. Taxi rate remains same here too i.e. INR. 7 per Km.

It can be ideal place for offsite or for team outing, river banks are quite and green with open air to smoke n may be for a bon fire on the bank of river Ganga.

I haven't really been to Jim yet Ya sure if I visit Delhi next time, I will plan my schedule accordingly

I have been to some national park or some thing in Orissa near Bhuvaneshwar, don't remember the name, it was a real good one too, had seen white tigers and lots of rare birds, there were a type of monkeys in the park, which were very friendly, they came close to me when I was having peanuts, they raised hands as if asking to a friend, when I didn't give notice to them they were pulling my pants to look at them it was really funny, I think I have some snaps of them as well You should visit it too, its mere under 10-15km from Bhuvaneshwar
