About Hyundai i20 CRDi
Hyundai i20 CRDi has made its name as the fastest accelerating diesel hatchback of India. It can reach 100 kilo meters per hour in just 11.1 seconds. Hyundai's Getz diesel can produce almost the same record with even more torque and power.
With a hydraulic lash adjuster and a swirl control valve, the 1396 cc twin-camshaft engine can produce an 88.7bhp@4000rpm and about 22.4kgm@1750-2750rpm. A little lower than the power and torque of the Hyundai Getz diesel, the Hyundai i20 is still the most powerful hatch back available in India.
Add to the fact that Hyundai i20 gives a mileage of 14.3 kilo meters per liter, the top speed of 174 kilo meter per hour is comparable to the more powerful petrol hatch backs.
On starting the engine, the turbos spooling at a 1900 rpm gives a huge amount of power and torque which makes the car move like a fired bullet. Despite the heavy power, the engine is refined so as to give only a very small vibration and clatter.
But in the urban traffic clutter, the small amount of turbo lag might be a menace in the frequently stopping traffic. Even with decent gear shift quality, the turbo lag may reduce the fuel efficiency in the city traffic.
Priced at about INR 7.16 lakhs, the Hyundai i20 CRDi has the same design and features of its petrol counterpart. Features include electrically folding mirrors, automatic climate control, USB, auxiliary input for stereo system and excellent space management
