Portugal's Christiano Ronaldo leaves the world cup a very sour man. He is even accused of spitting at a camera man after Spain defeated Portugal 1-0 in the second round of the Fifa World cup 2010 in South Africa. He looked directly at the camera man and spat at the man's feet, intentionally or not. Clearly, being the most expensive player in the Football arena does not improve one's disposition.

Ronaldo had a very bad tournament and had difficulty making the ball reach the goal post, his only goal being against North Korea which Portugal won with a whopping 7-0. This was also his only goal in an international tournament in a time span of 16 months.

Portugal team under Christiano Roanldo has been equally disappointing. Even though faring better than France or the defending champions Italy, Portugal left the excitement of the fans dunked. Even though Portuguese exploded in the match against North Korea, the First match againt Ivory Coast had been a boring draw at 0-0. Portugal entered the second round after drawing the match with Brazil at another 0-0.

During the second round, the Portuguese were defeated by Spain through the goal by David Villa, the new hero of Spain with his fourth goal of the World Cup, in the 62nd minute.

Personally, I feel betrayed by the Portuguese who were among my favorite teams to win the world cup, which they had played rather passively after entering the world cup ranked third.
