No More Over Time
Doing overtime has become a trend with the younger generation especially, the single. Particularly on weekdays, when there is no happening place to hang out or friends who are free, the youngsters prefer to spend some extra time in the office premises rather than retire to the lonely and boring bachelor quarters.
But these habits in the young age might be causing unanticipated troubles. Recent research and studies made by European Heart foundation has established that working more than 10 hours a day drastically increases the risk of sudden fatal heart attacks and other heart problems.
In a normal 7 hour a day work schedule, staying back for an hour or two will not cause much problem or affect the health to a great extent. But putting in more than 3 hours of extra work per day dramatically increases the risk by about 60 per cent.
Often it is seen that people who put in such extra effort and time into their career would be more aggressive, competitive, uptight, living by the clock and hostile towards others. These factors make them even better candidates for depression and anxiety-related problems. Such people always suffer from sleep deprivation and chronic stress which in turn increases the risk of minor heart attacks and angina.
Men who work for long hours often ignore symptoms of ill heath and never under go a timely medical check up. This together with the high stress levels could cause a very fatal effect to the body metabolisms.
