View through Spectacles
Nowadays, the frequent use of computer and TV has made use of spectacles imperative. Even if worn with a plain glass, spectacles act as an extra protection to the eyes.
In the conservative context, glasses are associated with nerds and geeks and frequently we see that a super-hero hides his personality behind a pair of spectacles while being his alter ego. For instance, remember Peter Parker and Spider man.
Often spectacles become one's fashion statement and part of personality. Some people even prefer to use spectacles instead of corrective contact lenses as they think of the spectacle as a part of their personal image. Celebrities like Groucho Marx and Elton John would be even unrecognizable without their spectacles. The identity of Harry Potter is his spectacles.
Nowadays, lighter and more flexible are available which are made from metals such as titanium. Unbreakable and scratch-resistant plastic lenses have taken the spectacles a long way. Rimless style of glasses, in which the glasses are not enclosed within the frame, makes a unique fashion statement.
A suitably chosen pair of spectacles can add to one's persona by giving an elegant look. Brand conscious people can make their own fashion statement by adding a great brand of spectacles to their accessory list.
But, a major difficulty of using glasses is during sports activities. There are sportsmen who play with their spectacles like Daniel Vettory of New Zealand, but it is a rarity as glasses may get dirty or fog up and affect visibility.
