I think a little bit of exercise, especially YOGA should be very helpful for the both of you, it will not only bring you in shape and back to what you two were but also give you some internal satisfaction of being normal and fit again.

Losing weight
that is really hard. According to me the best way to lose weight is to do little dieting and exercise. Skipping meals is not good cause if you do that you will be hungrier when you eat and unknowingly you ear more than you actually should.And yes you should have at least 5 meals in a day. Meaning good breakfast, snack, then lunch, then snack and then dinner. But hey the snack should be very light and no fried things!!!! I Know it seems hard but believe me once you do this it becomes easy
