Loving a Vampire
After the magical Harry Potter the hearts of the young readers were captivated by a vampire and his love, Bella. The Twilight series consists of four vampire-based fantasy romance novels. The first story was written by the author, Stephenie Meyer after she dreamt of a vampire in love with a human girl; the first book was released in 2005.
The main protagonist of the stories is Isabella "Bella" Swan, a teenage girl who falls in love with Edward Cullen who is a 104-year-old vampire. The books start with Bella Swan moving to a new school and meeting Edward Cullen and spans out the romance between a vampire and the human girl.
The first book is titled, Twilight. The second book following twilight is titled New Moon and the third is named Eclipse. The fourth book, the final book of the series is titled Breaking Dawn. The books written in first-person narrative, tells the reader of Bella's point of view. Another major theme of the book series includes choices or decisions and free will.
The twilight series has made its slot in the bestseller list and also won the Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Book in 2009. While teenage girls were the major readers, boys and adults have also been swept away by the twilight phenomenon. Millions of fans shriek their support to the series in online communities.
The books were also adapted into film series, with the first being Twilight, followed by The Twilight Saga: New Moon and the soon to be released The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
