Recession: In economics, a recession is a general slowdown in economic activity in a country over a sustained period of time, or a business cycle contraction.

As all of us are aware of Recession time and saw number of changes during this period so would like to read your comments and experiences. How it affected you and if the impact of recession was good or not because some of my friends think that recession gave a good impact on BPO's and cleaned messes and worthless people from BPO's.

According to me too recession cleaned BPO's and now most of the BPO's got skilled and smart employees.

actually you are right, but some of the most talented have lost their jobs because of the recession

It did hit me in my internet usage and online activities as my earnings dropped miserably online which made really mad for quite some time

It looks more over as, the things have gained pace and I am feeling a level of comfort back again.
I would sincerely pray such a mess never repeats again

We are in a situation where no one can actually help and there is no point in blaming the God or the circumstances for our situation. You cannot also blame the Government of your country or the company you was working for this situation. It is just a tough time and the fittest will survive, others will get washed away with the time.

India was not that much affected and whatever depression we faced, now we are coming out of it. In real terms my organization was not affected and we made a good profit during recession too. FYI: I work in Wipro.

Well some sectors were badly affected especially exports and jewellery, traffic was given a low rate by the advertisers because of the recession, so some got stuck even though the effect wasn't seen on the entire sectors.

Wipro, Infosys and TATA did good even in the recession, that's a good sign
