Hi

This thread is dedicated to my Kanti Uncle who keep sending nice thoughts every day, he is 76 years young and lives in England, the thoughts posted/published here are copied from the mails he sent to me and friends (so if you find any thing objectionable then please feel free to shout back and i will do the needful).

Power

Attitudes
When you extend pure love to everyone that is an attitude of kindness.

When you send good wishes and pure feelings to those who are in deep sorrow, that is an attitude of mercy.

When you see the virtues rather than the weaknesses in people that is an attitude of compassion.

When you bless and uplift someone even as they defame you, that is an attitude of forgiveness.

When you tolerate a situation and take responsibility as well as give cooperation even when not appreciated, that is an attitude of humility and self-respect.

Every second, every moment and every breath of your life is nurtured by attitude.

Contended?

The more positive the thoughts flowing through my mind, the more contented I will feel.

It is easy to feel contented when we are praised and appreciated

but to remain contented when we are being criticised and rejected is the mark of real strength

1980, IDBI bank rejected loan for Ambani.

2008, Mukesh Ambani was planning to buy IDBI bank.

This shows nothing is impossible

now in 2009, HDFC bank rejected loan for me...

but in 2020, I'm planning to....

Apply for loan again!

True Peace
True peace can be experienced only when we stop giving and taking sorrow. In order not to give sorrow we need a clear heart that has no ill feelings and for not taking sorrow we need a big heart that can tolerate and help other souls to get over their weaknesses.

THE INFLUENCE OF GOSSIP

I cannot afford to overlook the influence that other people have on me.

There are cases where people quarrel, fight and even commit murder because they are influenced by gossip, influenced by the words of others.

To what extent do I check that I am not being influenced by gossip?

Negativity in the mind is like poison.

Negative thoughts are the seeds of negative actions.

It might seem like a simple everyday occurrence - my friends tell me in the strictest confidence that such and such a person is like this and does so-and-so. I listen and accept without question because of the friendship.

My attitude and actions now become influenced by my friends words, and I find myself acting and reacting in accordance with the information fed to me.

Poison can come in many disguises, but poison is poison whether from an enemy or a friend.

Love
True love is based on understanding, mutual trust and respect and not simply on transient emotions.

Love is being in balance, that is, in harmony with the self and each other.
We must allow this love to flow out and around us.

Without love, all of life's treasures are locked away from our vision and experiences.

Good Wishes
Giving good wishes to others acts like sunlight, filtering into the dark corners of their mind and lightening their burden.

A sharp tongue can cut my own throat.

Of all the things I wear, my expression is the most important.

Healthcare
Silence, happiness and love are important aspects.
Happiness leads to good health. It is only you who can give this medicine to yourself.
Some bring illness to themselves through anger, greed, unfulfilled desires, expectations, suppression of feelings and relationships not based on true love.
Look in your heart, you will know where your illness comes from.
There are three ingredients for a long and healthy life: live with attention but without worry; use time in a worthwhile way; keep your thoughts pure, positive and filled with strength.

If you can't be a pencil to write anyone's happiness, try at least to be a

Thoughts from Man's Heart

Thought 1

When we are born, our mothers get the compliments and the flowers.
When we are married, our brides get the presents and the publicity.
When we die, our widows get the life insurance.
What do women want to be liberated from?

Thought 2

The average man's life consists of:
Twenty years of having his mother ask him where he is going,
Forty years of having his wife ask the same question;
and at the end, the mourners wondering too where he is going.

Thought 3

Everyone in the wedding ceremony was watching the radiant bride as her father escorted her down the aisle to give away to the groom. They reached the altar and the waiting groom; the bride kissed her father and placed something in his hand. Everyone in the room was wondering what was given to the father by the bride.

The father could feel the suspense in the air and all eyes were on him to divulge the secret and say something. So he announced :

'Ladies and Gentlemen. Today is the luckiest day of my life ...' Then he raised his hands with what his daughter gave him and continued, 'My daughter finally, finally returned my Credit Card to me.'

The whole audience including the priest started laughing . . . . . But not the poor Groom ! ! !

Thought 4

A Man was walking down a street when he heard a voice from behind, 'If you take one more step, a brick will fall down on your head and kill you.'

The man stopped and a big brick fell right in front of him. The man was astonished. He went on, and after a while he was going to cross the road. Once again the voice shouted, 'Stop ! Stand still ! If you take one more step a car will run over you, and you will die.'

The man did as he was instructed, just as a car came careening around the corner, barely missing him. The man asked. 'Who are you?'

'I am your guardian angel,' the voice answered.

'Oh, yeah?' the man said 'And where the hell were you when I got married?'

Family & Friends
It's often said that charity begins at home. So let me first give respect to my family and friends.

If I keep the weaknesses of others in my mind they will soon become part of me.
